BRC receives major “Best Senior Living” distinctions from U.S. News & World Report for second year in a row

We are thrilled to announce that BRC has once again been recognized as a “Best Senior Living” community by U.S. News & World Report. For the second year in a row, BRC earned designations for Best Independent Living, Best Assisted Living, Best Memory Care, and Best Continuing Care Retirement Community, a feat achieved by only seven communities out of over 4,000 surveyed. Previously, BRC also received a distinction from U.S. News & World Report in the Best Nursing category for Best Short-Term Rehabilitation.

Combined, the awards recognize BRC’s commitment to providing exceptional services and amenities to residents across all levels of living, and position BRC as a leading choice for seniors in the Shenandoah Valley.

“We are honored to receive these ‘Best Senior Living‘ distinctions from U.S. News & World Report,” says BRC president Rodney Alderfer. “We provide an exceptional retirement lifestyle to our residents, and this recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. We are proud to be a part of such a vibrant and caring community, and we will continue to strive for excellence in everything we do.”

According to U.S. News & World Report, participation in the survey grew significantly, from roughly 3,000 communities last year to nearly 4,000 communities this year. The ratings are designed to help seniors and their families choose the best living arrangement for their individual needs. Best Senior Living is one of U.S. News’ free, searchable data-driven tools to help consumers make consequential decisions.

The ratings were determined by extensively surveying residents and family members of senior living communities that agreed to be evaluated. Here’s a sample of what BRC’s residents and family members had to say:

“So happy that we made the move to BRC. It has given us a renewed sense of freedom knowing that we can come and go without having to worry about yard maintenance or plumbing problems.”

“When we arrived at BRC, we were visited, checked on, and wonderful activities were planned that put us in a position to meet and greet current residents. After only four months of living here, we thankfully call BRC home.”

“Gardner House is a gift! I couldn’t be more grateful to know that mom is being taken care of with respect, kindness and that there are so many opportunities for her to be involved and develop relationships with the other residents.”

Combined with our recent recognitions in Virginia Living’s Best of Virginia Awards, Daily News-Record’s Best of the Valley Awards, Charity Navigator’s Four-Star Charity recognition, and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Service’s Five-Star Quality rating, these awards further cement our commitment to providing exceptional services and amenities to residents across all levels of living. Thank you to our hardworking team and dedicated residents for making BRC a leading choice for seniors in the Shenandoah Valley.
