Celebrating Volunteers

April is national volunteer month, and a great opportunity to celebrate the people and organizations that provided approximately 35,000 hours of volunteer service on our campus in the past year.

For the third year in a row, Outback Steakhouse partnered with BRC in hosting an annual volunteer recognition celebration on April 10.

More than 100 BRC volunteers attended.

“Our theme—Our volunteers make a world of difference—says it all,” explains Laura Ipock Powell, BRC Director of Volunteer Services.

“Our diverse group of volunteers come from churches, schools, civic organizations and our community. They make a world of difference in the lives of our residents.”

In fiscal year 2018, 34,049 hours of volunteer service at BRC were documented.

That’s the equivalent of about 17 full-time team members working 40 hours a week. What an impact!

To remain eligible for the Home No Matter What Promise, residents must fulfill their obligations in turn as citizens of the BRC community and not give away the resources needed to meet financial obligations to BRC.
